Kingston Health Centre
Kingston, Tasmania
The Kingston Health Centre was a new development project encompassing a brand new, 2-storey health care facility for the Kingborough and Huon Valley communities, built on part of the former Kingston High School site.
This project was broken into two stages, and provides a range of primary and public health, preventative and social services, where teams of professionals work alongside other disciplines in one consolidated building. The design and layout of the facility is contemporary, providing care in a comfortable and friendly environment, but more importantly it is flexible, allowing for future health service delivery as the area grows.
The functional, modern, light-filled building is energy efficient, featuring local Tasmanian timbers in both its construction and decoration, alongside nature-inspired elements and materials, promoting a healthy, sustainable environment.
Landscaping complements the design, creating a series of green zones, encouraging social interaction and inviting clients, guests, and staff to spend time outside.
Services housed in the new facility include:
- Community Nursing,
- Child Health and Parenting Services,
- Mental Health Services,
- Social Work Services,
- Allied Health Services, including physiotherapy, podiatry, speech pathology, and dietetics services
- Oral Health Services.
