The new Derwent Derwent Sailing Squadron (DSS) sailor facilities were recently opened, partly funded by a community grant. These new facilities are primarily for the use of disabled sailors and marina users.
Constructed by DSS members, including the contractor, Phoenix Constructions, the new amenities block contains 5 ensuite bathrooms, 2 of which provide full disabled access, and the Squadron’s members laundry. DSS members will now be able to access the new facility 24/7 by swiping their access cards at the new automatic doors, and exit by movement sensor.
