Royal Hobart Hospital ICU Expansion

This project encompasses the expansion of the existing Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital, providing space for an additional 10 beds, whilst retaining close physical linkage to medical imaging, perioperative environment and the emergency department. Works included:
- 10 additional Patient Bays including isolation rooms,
- Additional family/visitors spaces,
- Additional storage, charging and clinical support areas,
- Assess adequacy of staff amenities,
- Integration with new DEM lift,
- Integration with existing,
- Flexibility to cater to adolescent consumers,
- Provision of outdoor and therapeutic spaces,
- Consideration of mass isolation capability,
- Individual temperature control for some rooms,
- Optimisation of access to natural light in all bed spaces,
- Optimisation of circulation and response pathway,
- Upgrade of general building services,
- Asbestos removal, where required.
