Royal Hobart Hospital – Integrated Cancer Services

As part of the Royal Hobart Hospital redevelopment, BPSM, in conjunction with Silver Thomas Hanley, were responsible for the design, documentation and administration of an addition to the Hospital complex.
A new Linear Accelerator Bunker was constructed as an extension to the existing A Block facilities. The Campbell Street exterior provides an aesthetic cloak to the highly technical internal spaces.
The ground floor, 1st, 7th and 8th floors of A Block also underwent major refurbishment and consist of day chemotherapy, radiation therapy, a day clinic and a new rehabilitation ward.
The project required close liaison with hospital user groups to minimise disruption and maximise best end use.
